The challenge now is with us "Christians" of finding the poor not only materially but most of all spiritually, for material richness doesn't matter, and return them to the riches of God's kingdom, a deeper relationship to his Creator.
Let us heal those afflicted by spiritual sickness, envy, anxiety, selfishness, pride, immorality, and sins of all sorts and nurture upon each a life full of love to God and to others. A preacher once suggested, if you are tempted to sin against somebody, just imagine that that person is Jesus Christ.
Furthermore, we are tasked to free those captives and imprisoned by their worldly desires. People today thought that their comfort zones are the safest place. No, they became instead their prison cell.
As Christians we should evaluate where are we in our mission today. Have we become part of the works mentioned in Isaiah 61:1? Are we worthy to partake the banquet prepared for us in His home, our future home?
