He who has an ear, let him hear!

It's been another day after President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo delivered her 9th State of the Nation Address. Many are discontented of not hearing the exact phrase they wanted to hear. Words like, "I am not going to seek another government elected position after June 2010," or something more black and white about her position as president of the Republic of the Philippines and about the possible instrument of her term's extension, the "Charter Change".

GMA has declared indirectly she is not seeking extension of her position. But, what's in a word? Why do her critics wanted to hear such pronouncements? I heard these same people talk about how the President declared, in black and white, in 2001 that she would not run for the presidency, but she did. I am sure, even if Pres. Arroyo declared yesterday she would not extend her office term, the issue would be, whether she will surely do or change her mind again. And there's no end of the isssue.

What is permanent in this world is change. If a person say something today, by influence of other forces it may change in the future. Do not be decieved by words. Let us be vigilant with the actions. When the event you are afraid of is in the looming, that's the time to act. Just remember, a wolf who is ready to catch his prey would make every tactics to deceive it. If he has ears, let him hear!
